Livestock startup against global warming

Learn how startups are working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions

A good example of startups has come from the agricultural sector, which accounts for 25% of our GDP.

I will mention some names – quite creative ones, by the way:

OLHO DO DONO , from Espírito Santo, COWMED , from Rio Grande do Sul, JetBov , from Santa Catarina, iRANCHO , from Goiás, and BOVCONTROL, which is owned by a Brazilian who lives in the United States.

One challenge is to invest in decarbonization.

After all, the sector is the second largest emitter of greenhouse gases in Brazil – and a large part of this comes from livestock farming, because of methane.

However, national startups are working to eliminate this effect. The idea is to increase efficiency through better land use and livestock management. Deforestation to raise more cattle is the main cause of the problem.

BovControl also offers credit to farmers and generates environmental impact reports for each client.

Finally, Olho do Dono, from Vitória, offers a smart camera to automatically measure the weight of cattle.

Sometimes, it is simple solutions that make our survival on the planet easier.

Long live Ag. And an even more special long live for Startups!
